Outside regular business hours, CharMeck 311 callers can report water, sewer, storm water and animal issues via an automated service that dispatches assistance. Residents can also submit service requests online 24 hours a day or access dozens of city services by downloading the CLT+ mobile app.

The holiday-week scheduling for curbside pickup of trash, recycling and debris varies significantly based on where you live and who has oversight for your services. Many residents and businesses in counties are under contract with outside vendors, not government employees, and dates are stipulated by those contracts. Don’t Recycle:
Friday customers receive service on Saturday. Solid Waste Services will observe the Christmas holiday and will not collect garbage, recycling, yard waste and scheduled bulky waste on Monday, Dec. 25. Collection services from Monday, Dec. 25, through Friday, Dec. 29, will operate on a one-day delay, with Friday customers receiving service on Saturday, Dec. 30. Natural Christmas tree collection will begin on Jan. 1. Trees should be placed at the curb for yard waste collection. Trees should be free of lights, decorations, tinsel, etc.

Solid Waste Services
Residents should place their collection materials curbside on their scheduled day of collection. It will be a green recycling collection week. Citizens of the Town of Huntersville who live in a single family house are provided with curbside solid waste services. The Town contracts its garbage collection, yard trimmings and recycling services to a private contractor, Waste Connections of the Carolinas. Solid Waste Services will not collect garbage, recycling, yard or scheduled bulk waste on Monday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Solid Waste Services will operate on a one-day delay following the holiday, with Friday customers receiving service on Saturday, June 24.
The Town has launched a voluntary recycle program for small businesses that are eligible to receive garbage collection in Matthews. It is provided at no cost to participating businesses. Cornelius offers weekly service of yard trimmings on the same day as garbage collection. Limbs cannot be any larger than fi ve inches in diameter and no longer than four feet in length.

Concord crews will begin Monday and work through each day’s route to catch up, with the goal of all yard waste being collected by Friday, January 21st. Large green rollout containers are used for both regular household trash and recycling. Recycling containers are marked with a sticker of acceptable recyclable materials on the lid. Mecklenburg County residents ALL follow the same guidelines on what can and cannot be recycled at your home. While the County does NOT COLLECT your materials, the County does PROCESS them at our Materials Recovery Facility.
If yard waste exceeds these specifications, no service will be provided. Leaves and grass clippings must be bagged in clear bags or other bags left open so the driver can see the contents. Bags must weigh less than 50 pounds each, with a 20 bag limit per week. (Drivers can spend no more than 20 minutes per home collecting yard trimmings). Branches must be cut to no more than 4 feet long and 5 inches in diameter. Stack limbs in small enough piles that an individual is able to handle.
Services will collect trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulk items on Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st. Limbs and brush should be separated from other waste. These should be left not more than five feet in length and not over six inches in diameter. Never place more than one pile of limbs or brush, approximately four feet high by four feet wide and five feet in length, at the curb each week.
Yadkinville, though, also is closed on Dec. 22. Banks typically have limited hours on Saturdays and will be closed on the Mondays after the holidays. Public schools mostly are closed from Dec. 19 to Jan. 3, although that can slide a day on either end, depending on the district.
Officials say Christmas tree collection will begin Monday, December 27th. In general, grocery stores will close early on Christmas Eve and be closed on Christmas Day. If you need to buy food on Christmas Day, your best bet will be a convenience store or a drugstore. Most stores are open on New Year’s Day, but some with modified hours. Make sure to have your bins on the curb by then. While I’ve never seen the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” I truly believe that I probably have a lot in common with the main character in the film.
The piles must not be any taller than four feet tall and four feet wide. Bagged leaves are collected year round in either tied transparent bags, or untied opaque bags. Cornelius also offers a leaf vacuuming service for leaves placed at the curb from November 1st until January 15th.
